Disc golf (also known as frisbee golf) is a disc game in which individual players throw a flying disc into a basket or at a target. According to the Professional Disc Golf Association, "The object of the game is to traverse a course from beginning to end in the fewest number of throws of the disc."
Disc golf is fun, inexpensive and is physically accessible for all ages and athletic ranges and therefore attracts a diverse range of players.
The golf disc used today is much smaller and heavier than traditional flying discs, typically being about 8 or 9 inches in diameter and between 150 and 180 grams. They also have a much smaller diameter and thinner profile, making them much more aerodynamic. There are a wide variety of discs, divided into three basic categories: putters, all-purpose mid-range discs, and drivers.
Please respect this course by not littering, breaking branches or vandalizing course equipment. If you’d like to know more, get involved with helping us build the course, or adopt a hole or sponsor a tee sign, contact us.
Friends of Newton Hill are extremely grateful to our Disc Golf hole sponsors for their support of the course and Newton Hill!
